North east Iran
This part of the project was shaped during an overland journey from Tehran to Mashhad, passing through a long stretch of cities and towns:
From Damavand, Firouzkouh, Pol-e Sefid, Qaemshahr, Sari, Neka, Behshahr, Kordkuy, and Gorgan;
then toward Khaled Nabi, through Kalaleh and the village of Gachisoo;
from Gonbad to Bojnourd, crossing Minoodasht, Galikesh, Kalaleh, Faraghi, Sadeghabad, Ava, Ghazi, Shoqan, and Ashkhaneh;
and finally, from Bojnourd to Mashhad, passing through Shirvan, Farooj, Quchan, Chenaran, and reaching Mashhad.
The road unfolded like a string of stories—town by town, frame by frame. From the silent mountains of Firouzkouh to the vast plains of North Khorasan, from the damp air of Mazandaran to the soft sunlight of Golestan.
We encountered people with hands full of work and eyes full of sunlight. The plains stretched wide, endless and green, and in every city, a story seemed to sleep in the walls of homes, in the eyes of passersby, and in the quiet morning light filtering through simple windows.
